The recent ex-tropical cyclone and flooding in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales have placed communities as well as animals at risk. Here is a list of useful contacts and flood support services to help you help pets, wildlife and farm animals in need.
WARNINGS AND ASSISTANCE

PETS AND FARM ANIMALS
NSW:
- RSPCA NSW animal emergency is available on 1300 278 358
- The Agricultural and Animal Services Hotline can help. Find out more by calling on 1800 814 647
- A full list of current Animal Evacuation Centres is available for people who need to relocate their animals, including specialised large and small animal facilities.
QLD:
- RSPCA QLD Animal Ambulance is available on 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) for help with pets or wildlife.
- If you find livestock animals in need of assistance, please contact your local council.

WILD ANIMALS
Please do not to approach any of the following: flying-foxes or microbats, reptiles or large animals/ macropods.
NSW and QLD:
- If you find injured or trapped wildlife, please call WIRES on 1300 094 737. They will give you information on how to best look after wild animals until a rescue can be safely conducted for all parties involved.
NSW:
- For wildlife emergencies call RSPCA NSW on 1300 094 737
QLD:
- RSPCA QLD Animal Ambulance is available on 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) for help with pets or wildlife.
- Wildcare SE QLD is also available 24/7 on 07 5527 2444
HEALTH
- The NSW Disaster Customer Care phone line 13 77 88 is open 24 hours daily to take flood related calls.
- Access mental health support through Lifeline’s 24-hour counselling service on 13 11 14. They have tool kits for people recovering after a natural disaster.
